We don’t recommend installing engineered wood in bathrooms or wet rooms, as prolonged exposure to water can cause it to swell. However, pre-finished Engineered Wood Flooring is more water-resistant and can handle occasional splashes or spills effectively.

Is engineered hardwood flooring compatible with underfloor heating?

Yes, engineered wood flooring is suitable for use with underfloor heating. We advise ensuring the temperature does not exceed 27°C to maintain the floor's integrity.

Are engineered wood floors scratch-resistant?

Our engineered wood planks are finished with multiple protective coats, making it highly resistant to scratches and chips, ensuring durability and longevity.

Does Natura Flooring provide a warranty?

Yes, a 10mm expansion gap is necessary during installation to allow the flooring to expand and contract naturally. You can easily hide this gap with beading or skirting boards for a seamless finish.

How do I install herringbone engineered flooring?

There are three main installation methods: glueing the floor directly to the subfloor, nailing it down, or laying it as a floating floor. Detailed installation guides are available on each product page for easy reference.

How long should I acclimatise engineered planks before installation?

We recommend allowing your engineered wooden planks to acclimatise in the room for at least 36 hours before installation. This ensures the wood adjusts to the room’s temperature and humidity for optimal results.

Can I sand and refinish engineered planks?

Yes, one of the great benefits of engineered wood flooring is that it can be sanded and refinished multiple times, giving it an exceptionally long lifespan. Typically, you won’t need to sand it for the first 10–15 years, but doing so can refresh its appearance and make it look as good as new.

Do I need underlay with engineered floors?

Yes, in most cases, you will need underlay when installing engineered wood flooring—especially if you're using the floating floor method. Underlay provides sound and thermal insulation, helps smooth out minor subfloor imperfections, and adds comfort underfoot. Some engineered floors, like The Family Floor, come with a built-in cork underlayer, so no additional underlay is needed.
